This award honours organisations in Ireland that are leading the way in the ethical development and deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies. It recognises initiatives that embed principles of fairness, transparency, accountability, and bias mitigation into their AI solutions while ensuring compliance with all relevant legal and ethical standards. The award celebrates projects that inspire trust, inclusivity, and responsibility, setting a benchmark for the broader AI community. Entrants should demonstrate their commitment to ethical AI principles and provide tangible examples of how their initiatives deliver societal and organisational benefits, fostering trust and inclusivity in the use of AI. Entry is by a 5-page A4 submission; the judges will be looking for clear information backed up by evidence that pays particular attention to the criteria listed below.
- Organisation Background: Provide a brief overview of your organisation, including when it was established, the size of your team, and your role in the development or deployment of AI solutions. Highlight relevant achievements, milestones, or commitments in ethical AI practices.
- Ethical AI Strategy Overview: Describe your organisation’s strategy for embedding ethical principles into the design, development, and deployment of AI solutions. Highlight the specific ethical challenges the strategy addresses, such as fairness, bias mitigation, transparency, accountability, or inclusivity.
- Implementation of Responsible AI Practices: Outline the methods, tools, or frameworks used to ensure ethical considerations are integrated into AI development and deployment. Highlight key milestones, innovative approaches, or processes that promote fairness, transparency, and accountability in your AI systems.
- Key Challenges: Identify challenges faced in adhering to ethical AI practices, such as addressing bias in data, managing stakeholder concerns, or navigating regulatory compliance, and explain how these were resolved.
- Outcomes & Results: Provide measurable results or evidence of the societal, organisational, or user benefits achieved through your responsible AI initiative. Share specific data, case studies, or examples of how your approach has enhanced trust, inclusivity, or fairness.
