Looking back to the Digital Transformation & AI Awards 2025, the AI Innovation of the Year Award brought together five organisations that used enterprise AI as a practical tool for solving demanding business challenges.

The category celebrates transformative applications of AI, with entries judged on organisation background, the AI innovation itself, measurable impact and results, scalability and future vision, and wider societal contribution.

Deciphex earned its place on the shortlist for an AI innovation project that reflected its focus on applying emerging technologies to data-heavy, precision-led work. The entry showed how business technology can support more accurate and efficient decision-making.

Irish Life was shortlisted for CARA (Claims AI Reasoning Assistant), an AI tool that reads claims, extracts key facts, and routes tasks efficiently. The project reduced processing times by over 70 percent, shortening them from days to hours while improving customer satisfaction.

Laya Healthcare was shortlisted for its OFWA product, which used vision models and machine learning to detect outpatient fraud, waste, and abuse. The entry showed how data analytics and AI can improve claims accuracy and speed while supporting ethical, cost-efficient healthcare.

Novartis Ireland was shortlisted for its Quality Event Management AI Implementation, which brought generative AI into a high-compliance, regulated process. The entry demonstrated how digital operational excellence can improve data insights, reporting, and documentation quality while saving significant time.

SSE Airtricity was shortlisted for AVA, a digital customer experience project that put AI at the centre of everyday customer interactions. The entry demonstrated how emerging technologies can make support simpler and more responsive.

The judging panel named Irish Life's CARA the strongest entry in the category, describing it as an effective AI implementation with clear metrics and a strong focus on efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

The Digital Transformation & AI Awards celebrate Ireland's leading innovators in technology and digital excellence, recognising organisations that are redefining success through enterprise technology, digital innovation, and emerging technologies. The awards also foster collaboration and inspire progress across Ireland's digital community.
