Workday has announced a €175 million investment to establish an AI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Dublin, reinforcing Ireland’s position as a global hub for artificial intelligence and enterprise technology. The move will create 200 specialised roles over the next three years and further expand Workday’s R&D footprint in Europe.
Supported by IDA Ireland, the initiative strengthens Dublin’s role as a key innovation engine within Workday’s global network. The AI CoE will focus on product development, workforce upskilling, academic partnerships and collaboration with Irish tech scale-ups. Over 80% of Workday’s 2,200 Ireland-based employees already work in product research and development, contributing to AI-driven solutions such as Workday Learning and Workday Assistant.
The company is investing heavily in talent and academia. Through Technology Ireland Digital Skillnet, 300 employees will be trained via the AI Business Academy, while partnerships with universities including Trinity College Dublin and DCU will embed researchers directly into Workday’s R&D teams. The collaboration with Enterprise Ireland’s Innovation Network will also see Workday partner with Irish AI firms such as Wrksense and Workhuman to accelerate innovation.
Workday’s new EMEA headquarters at College Square, Dublin 2, will feature a dedicated Customer Experience Centre designed to foster deeper collaboration with European clients.
With this expansion, Workday positions itself to shape the next era of enterprise software powered by AI, while reinforcing Ireland’s global technology leadership.
