Colombian food company Alpina Colombia has signed an agreement with US enterprise technology company Kyndryl to modernise its core IT infrastructure as part of a broader digital transformation strategy, centred on a RISE with SAP migration to SAP Cloud ERP Private hosted on Amazon Web Services.

The agreement, reported by Kyndryl, builds on a decade-long working relationship and leverages Kyndryl's designation as a RISE with SAP implementation partner.

The project scope extends beyond cloud migration to include the enablement of a data factory to support analytics and AI strategy, the implementation of Kyndryl Bridge or the company's AI-powered open integration platform and the ongoing management of Alpina's hybrid infrastructure covering both SAP and non-SAP on-premises systems.

Nicolás Forero, Vice President of Transformation and Technology at Alpina Colombia, said: "We are convinced that the combination of cutting-edge technology, access to global innovation through the cloud, and the expertise of our people will transform the way we operate. This agreement, together with Kyndryl, is a key milestone in modernising our IT infrastructure while ensuring business continuity."

Gerardo Osio, Managing Director of Kyndryl Colombia, said: "This initiative will enhance Alpina's technology platform and enable new digital capabilities that will drive greater agility, efficiency and resilience across its operations."

Kyndryl Bridge will provide observability, automation and proactive systems management across Alpina's technology operations, targeting increased availability and efficiency. The data factory component will support AI-driven use cases as part of Alpina's longer-term analytics strategy.

The transformation reflects broader pressures on the food and consumer goods sector. The Kyndryl Readiness Report 2025 found that only 30% of senior decision-makers feel prepared to manage technology risks, while 70% of CEOs said their cloud environments evolved by accident rather than by design, compounding the complexity of large-scale modernisation programmes.

The RISE with SAP migration will strengthen industry-specific capabilities, enhance user experience and establish a scalable, innovation-ready SAP ecosystem aligned to Alpina's operational and competitive priorities.
