Indonesian national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia is modernising its core enterprise systems through RISE with SAP, migrating fragmented back-office processes across finance, procurement, supply chain and selected customer operations onto SAP Cloud ERP Private as part of a broader digital transformation programme. The development, reported by SAP News Center, marks a significant milestone in the airline's efforts to rebuild operational resilience and improve business agility.

Thomas Oentoro, Deputy CEO of Garuda Indonesia, said: "By modernising our enterprise core, we are building a more connected, agile, and disciplined organisation, better equipped to manage costs and respond to a dynamic operating environment."

The transformation introduces SAP Fiori-based digital user experiences, enabling role-based access and intuitive workflows across the organisation. Embedded analytics and automation will enhance visibility into operational performance, while deployment in a private managed cloud environment is designed to simplify IT operations and reduce system complexity.

Sianto Wongjoyo, Managing Director of SAP Indonesia, said: "By adopting SAP Cloud ERP Private through the RISE with SAP journey, Garuda Indonesia is building a strong foundation to streamline operations and enhance transparency."

Wongjoyo added that the transformation positions the airline to advance toward a more autonomous enterprise, where AI-driven automation can support more efficient and adaptive operations.

As Garuda Indonesia continues to restore fleet readiness and scale capacity, the new digital core is also expected to improve maintenance and asset management capabilities. The airline serves millions of passengers annually and has identified digital modernisation as central to its competitiveness across the broader Asia-Pacific aviation market.
