Artificial intelligence company Mistral AI has announced a significant expansion in Singapore, signing a strategic partnership with the Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX) and memoranda of understanding with Singtel, NCS and ST Engineering to accelerate AI deployment across public and enterprise sectors.

The development, reported by Digital News Asia, positions the company as a key enabler of secure, sovereign AI infrastructure in the Asia Pacific region.

The HTX agreement, signed at the Milipol TechX Summit 2026, will see Mistral AI provide high-performance inference and fine-tuning infrastructure alongside developer tools to support application development for Singapore's public safety sector. The partnership will also target capability building through technical training.

Three separate MoUs extend Mistral AI's commercial footprint across regulated industries. With Singtel's sovereign AI cloud business RE:AI, the company will develop industry-specific use cases across financial services, defence and healthcare, with plans for a joint Applied AI Centre of Excellence. The NCS partnership targets organisations in highly regulated environments, combining system integration expertise with customisable AI models.

A deepened collaboration with ST Engineering will integrate agentic fact-checking into AGIL® Trust, strengthening deepfake and misinformation detection for public security applications.

Arthur Mensch, CEO and co-founder of Mistral AI, said: "Our continued commitment to Singapore reflects its role as a leading hub for AI innovation and infrastructure."

Singapore has emerged as a regional anchor for AI infrastructure investment, with the government's National AI Strategy 2.0 framing compute capacity and trusted deployment frameworks as priorities for the public and private sectors.
