Redfaire, a Limerick-based enterprise resource planning and cloud services provider led by co-founder and CEO Brian McInerney, has received a €13 million minority investment from BGF.
The company operates an enterprise consulting and cloud orchestration platform managing mission-critical corporate databases, financial systems and supply chain networks, employing over 200 specialists across Ireland, the UK, Europe and North America. It provides digital transformation architecture, managed cloud application support and hybrid infrastructure management to clients running mission-critical systems.
BGF runs dedicated investment teams from Dublin and Cork, backed by the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, Bank of Ireland, AIB and Ulster Bank, and deploys a €250 million fund into Irish SME stakes typically sized between €4 million and €20 million, with the ability to provide follow-on funding as portfolio companies scale. Concurrent with the funding, Redfaire acquired eKal Solutions to add human capital management capabilities to its platform and appointed enterprise software veteran Glenn Timms as Non-Executive Chair to guide its acquisition pipeline.
The structural driver is fragmentation among regional ERP and cloud consultancies, which BGF's minority capital lets Redfaire consolidate without ceding founder control. The eKal acquisition, executed alongside the funding round rather than after it, signals the roll-up strategy is already operational, not a future ambition contingent on the raise landing well or on subsequent fundraising.
Timms's appointment is the commercially significant detail. Bringing in a chair with a specific mandate to guide acquisitions signals Redfaire is building governance infrastructure for a sustained buying programme, not a single opportunistic deal, which changes how competing consultancies and their advisors should read Redfaire's future approach to them as either acquisition targets or displaced competitors.
For the sector, this points to consolidation pressure building among mid-sized digital transformation providers, as clients increasingly demand single-vendor cloud and ERP lifecycle management, a shift larger systems integrators have pursued through acquisition for years and that boutique players like Redfaire are now being financed to match at a smaller, more targeted scale.
