Sandvik AB Group and EY were awarded the Best People & Culture Impact Award at the Digital Transformation & AI Awards 2025 earlier this year for their Seamless Flow programme, which modernised Sandvik’s logistics and customer-related processes through the replacement of legacy IT systems with a new S/4HANA platform.

The programme engaged over 350 professionals across multiple organisations and geographies, combining strategic planning, technology adoption, and user-focused design to deliver a transformative digital solution.

Judges highlighted the project’s remarkable scale, precision, and collaborative approach. The global rollout across 26 countries in just 2.5 weeks, executed fully remotely during COVID, demonstrated exceptional project management and coordination. The judges also emphasised the programme’s human-centred design, including a co-designed in-system guide and intuitive visuals that prioritised usability and operational efficiency.

“Rolling out a global system across 26 countries in just 2.5 weeks is no small feat—but Sandvik and EY did it with precision, coordination, and purpose,” the judges said. 

“Starting fully remote during COVID with a 350-strong team, they not only delivered at scale but built with the user in mind. The co-designed in-system guide and intuitive visuals highlight a transformation centred on real-world usability, not just technology.”

The recognition reflected the high standards set at the Digital Transformation & AI Awards, where entrants were distinguished by data-driven performance, impactful collaboration, and operational excellence. It underlined the role of people, culture, and innovation in driving large-scale digital change across complex organisations.
