Security Bank Corp., a leading Philippine lender, is fast-tracking its multi-year digital transformation through investments in artificial intelligence, real-time data platforms, and modern IT architecture to enhance operational efficiency and customer service.
The bank has shifted from traditional batch processing to enterprise-grade data streaming, enabling instant insights and faster transactions. Central to the strategy is its Enterprise API Platform, which converts banking capabilities into secure, reusable API products. The platform received the Technology Excellence Award for API-Banking at the 2025 Asian Technology Excellence Awards.
By transforming core capabilities into APIs, Security Bank aims to deploy new services more quickly and strengthen readiness for open banking. The bank has also digitized compliance and branch operations through the Transactor Due Diligence platform. Now active across 346 branches, the digital Know Your Customer workflow has eliminated paper reliance and reduced processing times. The initiative earned the Best Compliance Risk Technology Initiative at the Asian Banker Global Financial Technology Awards.
Future plans include further AI investments for fraud management, advanced cybersecurity, core banking payment modernization, API monetization, and embedded finance partnerships to maintain a competitive edge in the local market.
“Security Bank is building a modern and customer-centric foundation designed to support sustainable growth,” said chief operating officer Lucose Eralil. He added that progress reflects “disciplined execution and a forward-looking approach to the evolving financial landscape.”
Established in 1951 and listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange under the symbol SECB, Security Bank offers retail, corporate, and commercial banking services, including lending, leasing, foreign exchange, and investment banking.
