Italy-based Sparkle, a global connectivity provider, has partnered with Swiss-headquartered Planhotel Hospitality Group to accelerate the digital transformation of its luxury resort network across Tanzania, Kenya, the Maldives, Switzerland and Italy.

The project aims to deliver faster, more secure connectivity and optimise operations across the Group’s international properties.

Planhotel, headquartered in Lugano, manages a portfolio of luxury hotels across the Indian Ocean region and Europe. The company leverages Sparkle’s Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions to improve network performance, reliability, and secure access for employees across its properties.

The SD-WAN solution balances and prioritises traffic across multiple internet connections, including satellite links, enhancing service quality and continuity. The SASE integration further strengthens cybersecurity by controlling and securing access to corporate resources.

In recent months, Sparkle implemented the solution in two Tanzanian resorts, improving performance for key applications such as videoconferencing and booking systems. Planhotel plans to extend the rollout to a third property and additional hotels in the near future.

Annalisa Bonatti, Vice President Enterprise at Sparkle, said: “We are proud to support Planhotel in its digital transformation journey. With our SD-WAN and SASE solutions, we enable secure, high-performing and scalable connectivity, a key element for companies operating in international and distributed environments such as hospitality.”

Marco Rosso, Chief Digital & Business Automation Officer at Planhotel Hospitality Group, added: “For us, technological innovation is an integral part of service excellence. A more powerful and secure network allows us to optimise daily operations and offer our guests an even smoother and more reliable experience, in line with the Group’s quality standards.”
