India-based AI-powered technology services and consulting company Wipro has secured an eight-year strategic transformation engagement with Singapore-headquartered food and agri-business Olam Group, in a deal expected to exceed $1 billion (€920m) in contract value, with a committed spend of $800 million (€736m).

According to TechCrunch, Wipro will deliver end-to-end transformation services through a consulting-led and AI-powered approach, drawing on its Wipro Intelligence™ suite of platforms and solutions alongside partnerships with leading technology providers.

Olam Group, which generates revenues exceeding $50 billion (€46bn) and employs nearly 40,000 people, is majority owned by Temasek Holdings. The engagement will span the group's farm-to-fork value chain, targeting areas including farming, forecasting, trading, supply chain operations and customer engagement, with the goal of improving operational effectiveness, strengthening resilience and supporting long-term growth at scale.

As part of the deal, Wipro will acquire Mindsprint, Olam Group's technology subsidiary, which will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Wipro subject to regulatory approvals. The transaction is expected to close by the end of June 2026. Primarily based in India, Mindsprint employs over 3,200 professionals and brings deep domain expertise in the food and agri-business sector alongside proprietary IP-led solutions including Farmsprint®, Procuresprint®, SprintAP™, Salessprint™ and the Tradesprint® Commodity Trading and Risk Management platform.

The acquisition is intended to combine Mindsprint's domain expertise with Wipro's global consulting and AI capabilities to unlock growth opportunities and drive market-ready transformation across the food and agri-business industry.

"Wipro's strategic engagement with Olam Group is an important step in expanding our farm-to-fork capabilities and scaling the impact of Wipro Intelligence™ across the food and agri-business industry," said Srini Pallia, chief executive officer and managing director of Wipro Limited.
