Zilliz, a U.S.-based developer of enterprise-grade vector database technology, has expanded its Zilliz Cloud platform into Azure North Europe (Ireland), advancing Europe’s digital transformation efforts by bringing AI-powered data infrastructure closer to enterprise users.

The move delivers a new layer of performance, data control, and scalability to businesses across Western Europe, the UK, and Ireland. By hosting in Ireland, organisations gain access to low-latency cloud AI infrastructure while maintaining compliance with EU data sovereignty laws. The new regional deployment enables users to design systems between Ireland and Frankfurt for optimised processing speed and regulatory alignment.

Zilliz Cloud, built on the open-source Milvus project, supports large-scale AI applications requiring real-time processing of unstructured data. The system provides sub-10 millisecond query speeds on billion-scale datasets and integrates multiple search capabilities—including semantic, vector similarity, and full-text functions—within one unified engine.

The platform is designed to handle enterprise use cases such as fraud detection, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), autonomous AI systems, and personalised recommendations. Its AutoIndex tool automatically refines performance and indexing, reducing the need for manual configuration. Features like serverless scalability and usage-based pricing make it adaptable for fast-changing workloads.

The company highlights its focus on security and compliance, meeting SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and GDPR standards. It also holds HIPAA readiness for sectors managing sensitive data, including finance, healthcare, and legal services.

Zilliz Cloud now operates in 29 global regions across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, and Tencent Cloud. This expansion allows multinational firms to deploy workloads closer to their customers and adapt infrastructure to regional governance needs.

Charles Xie, Zilliz Founder and CEO, said the expansion aligns with the company’s mission to make AI deployment easier and more secure worldwide. The Irish launch forms part of Zilliz’s broader strategy to extend high-performance AI solutions across Europe through partnerships with established hyperscalers.

The Azure North Europe (Ireland) deployment is now active for all customers, enabling immediate access through the Zilliz Cloud console.
