Seven Belfast-based SMEs have announced a combined investment of £4.1 million to accelerate digital transformation, enhance innovation, and expand their international reach.

Supported by Invest NI, the funding is expected to create 33 new jobs across research, development, and export growth.

Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald made the announcement at Ormeau Labs, where three of the companies are located. She said: “Each of the companies making these investments has accessed a broad range of support from Invest NI. This is enabling them to invest in innovation, help boost productivity, create good jobs and grow sales in the south, Britain, and the USA.”

Over the past three years, these firms have collectively received nearly £590,000 in financial assistance and guidance from Invest NI to support trade, R&D, and market development initiatives.

The investment spans multiple technology areas, including AI-powered solutions, digital infrastructure, and biotechnology, while targeting growth in markets across Europe, North America, and Asia.

Bia Analytical is focusing on commercialising food fraud detection products and developing portable testing tools. Enzai Technologies is expanding its AI governance software services globally, while Movetru is enhancing its technology for athlete performance tracking and increasing its international visibility. Rubik Technologies is investing in capacity to support manufacturers in driving digital transformation outside Northern Ireland.

Susan O’Kane, Head of Regional Business for the Belfast City Region at Invest NI, said these companies are “brilliant examples” of homegrown talent within Northern Ireland’s £3.4 billion tech sector, leading in innovation and international growth.
